The Bacolod food hunters are proud to bring you their report on: THE BEST CHEESEBURGER IN BACOLOD!
The best cheeseburger in Bacolod can be found in a restaurant familiar to most Bacolenos. In fact, most people do not even order cheeseburgers from this restaurant at all, preferring instead to buy from the local Jollibee or Mcdonalds outlets.
My friends and readers, you do not know what you are missing out on. This cheeseburger will truly blow you away. This scrumptious cheeseburger can be found in Bar21. Yes, THE Bar21.
Bar21 is located along busy Lacson street. By daytime it is almost unnoticeable. By night time, the lights in the restaurant go on and the “21″ number sign lights up enticing diners to go inside.

Bar21 has recently been renovated and the whole place looks nice and cozy. Soft lighting and nice comfortable furniture really add to the charm and the ambiance of Bar21.
Seen here are two members of the Bacolod food hunters lounging around and relaxing while waiting for their orders.

Bar21 also has some interesting decor such as this huge trophy fish.

On the menu that night was roast Angus Beef. It looked really good and almost distracted the Bacolod Food hunters from their mission!

On a side mission, one of the members decided to sample bar21’s batchoy. This member also says that Bar21also serves the best batchoy in Bacolod.

The batchoy looks very delicious! Topped with chicharon and sliced onions, it was sending out a delicious aroma!

Finally the main event. The cheeseburger arrives.

IT IS HUGE! A Massive beef patty nesting on an equally massive bun along with fresh, crisp tomatoes and lettuce drizzled liberally with cheese sauce. Oh wow! It also had a generous helping of chips. This cheeseburger truly is the best in Bacolod! For years, Bob’s restaurant had held the honor of having the best cheeseburger. Not anymore.
One member of the Bacolod food hunters becomes the guinea pig and shows just how filling the cheeseburger is. We ask Smile, the thinnest member to demonstrate.
Look at how big the burger is! Smile has to cut it with a knife and fork!

Even though the cheeseburger is cut in half, it is still too big for Smile who bravely munches on half a burger.

Finally Smile has almost finished half a burger and asks: “Do I really have to eat the second half too?”

The evidence that Smile is full, his belly is bulging at the seams! Attaboy! He has vanquished the monster burger!

So whenever you are in Bacolod and have a craving for a cheeseburger, pass up on the McDonalds and Jollibee fast food crap and go to Bar21!

i think it’s their batchoy that i like better. then there’s this other appetizer that i like which i forgot the name. i’m going to my friends’ group birthday party tonight and i’ll take a picture of it. nice blog, by the way.

You go smile!!!
That looked liked a really sweet tastin’ burger! A MONSTER BURGER!!!
The batchoy deserves a seperate post of its own. For it is indeed famous in its own right and only serves as a supporting cast in this little story.

The biggest burger I have seen in town is the bigfoot burger at Imbiss. It has 2 burger patties not 1, lettuce onion tomato & cheese, served with a huge order of french fries and coleslaw. It was under 150 peso if i remember correctly. Good for 2.

Bar 21 is the absolute WORST place I’ve eaten at since moving to Bacolod City, 18 months ago. My wife, son, and myself, went there for lunch several months ago. As I entered the restaurant I noticed a lady eating a big platter of shrimp that looked very good. Neither my wife nor myself could find a shrimp plate on the menu so we inquired with the waitress if shrimp was available. “Oh, yes” she said — so I ordered it. Out came a plate the size of a SAUCER with ONE f’ing shrimp on it covered with some kind of cheese sauce for which I was charged the equivalent of $4.10 US!!!! My wife questioned the waitress about this outrage but all she did was get the manager. The manager’s attitude was BFD. YOU ordered it YOU pay for it. In my estimation Bar 21 is nothing but an overpriced thieving dump!! This joint and Imay’s are two places I’d never set foot in again — and we eat at least one meal out every DAY.
