I’ve never realized how fortunate we are as Negrenses when it comes to sugarcanes. I remember when I was a kid, my friends just get sugarcanes for free from the sidewalks or sugarcane trucks. Then I came to Melbourne and saw that they sell sugarcanes (around 2 feet in length) in the mall’s food courts or markets for around $3! Why, that’s more than a hundred pesos! I was shocked!
